Safety, comfort, function.
We are proud to present our first harness: the CABRIO.
After 2 and a half year of very intense development: here is the result.

We are proud to present our first harness: the CABRIO.
After 2 and a half year of very intense development: here is the result.

The CABRIO is a modular all-round harness with a removable outer cover.
-fly with or without a board,
-with or without additional protectors,
-with rescue handle right, left or both sides (or dual rescue).
A double ring Nitinol system guarantees that the PASSIVE PROTECTOR always stays in shape.
It offers good protection without active air inflation and independent of the pilot’s sitting position.
Many setting options guarantee a high individual comfort level.

To get an idea what we need, we started to analyse the harness market, check out the reference products out there and ask the dealers what the pilots need.
We heard that they need stability and modularity. Some pilots want to fly with a seat board, but they want the high stability of a single leg suspension: so we combined both techniques.
Because of every body is individual we implemented many setting possibilities and are offering a lot of different sizes: from XXS to XL.
During development, we have experienced the advantage to use a fast packing bag: like our Accel, so we got rid of a fixed connected rucksack.
Functionality was always highest priority for us: we wanted to be sure, that it easy for the pilots to get “gear up” and “gear down”, as well as the pilots upright position is stable to guarantee a safe takeoff and a stress free landing approach with “gear down”. This is a weak point of many products out there and one of the base strength of the CABRIO.
Of course comfort always matters. So we put a lot of attention to the backpart and base geometry.
We are specially proud to have reached record low protector values in passive setting: without active air inflation!
Thanks to every member of our the team for the contribution to this great product!

As every human body is different, this table is just a rought guideline.
During the EN 1651 protector tests the CABRIO reached new record low g values for airbag protectors:
15.5g / 16.5g (with / without rescue mounted).
In contrast to other certification tests, the test of the CABRIO was done without artificial ventilation!
The protector was not blown up by a ventilator before the impact!
So the double ring Nitinol airbag of the CABRIO is a passive protector: it works without been blown up actively!
The CABRIO can be equipped with additional protectors in the back and on the side, to specially protect the spine and pelvis in addition to the EN 1651 impact protection (airbag).

We are proud to use the super highlevel D3O protection for our CABRIO harness.
You can optionally mount the D3O BP4 level 1 or level 2 back protector and a pair of the D3O DIABLO L2 hip protectors.
Level 1 or 2 describes the impact absorbing level. Level 2 is heavier, but absorbing even more than level 1.

In contrast to a crash with skis or the bike, the momentum on a paragliding crash is mostly the other way around: the centre of rotation is above the person. With the wide part of the protector plate heading downwards, we specially protect the back of the pelvic bones.
We communicated this to the D3O team and they agreed to apply their certified protector this way.
The additional protectors are separate products, that can be ordered by our b2b ordering system.
The additional protectors can be mounted easily, as the back part of the CABRIO harness is detachable.
The mounting / dismounting of the seat board is easy, because the back part of the CABRIO is detachable.
The detachable backpart (shell) of the CABRIO has the advantage of easy installation of the additional protectors and the seat board.
-repairs are easier.
-modularity is offering installing different rescue positions or a double rescue system.
